R-V competed against 200 bidders and was awarded the contract to design and build a modern complex consisting of three 5-story buildings complete with common recreational areas which include a fitness center, farming (vegetable and fruit) and gardening stations, a water treatment plant, photoelectric systems and a public trolley station.

Federal regulations compliance
The use of concrete moldings systems and a construction crane allowed R-V to complete this project safely and in a short time in spite of on-site space constraints. The 10-story 111-room building destined to house elderly residents was designed by R-V and built in compliance with federal regulations for people with disabilities as well as strict requirements for healthcare facilities.
FIREHOUSE SUBS - Aguadilla, PR

R&V General Contractor Corp. was selected to build the first Firehouse Subs store in western Puerto Rico. This was a location of particular importance as Aguadilla is a hot spot for tourists who visit the area for its beaches and surfing spots, so the parent company needed this store to be up and running in the least possible time.
The project consisted of a 1,600 square-foot store complete with HVAC system, commercial kitchen, drive-thru window, decoration and exterior signage including a 45-foot-tall pilot sign.
R&V assigned three work groups each day in order to meet its customer’s required deadline. In the end, the store was completed and fully-operational in less than two months, setting a record for a Firehouse Subs restaurant build.

Working during store operations
The remodeling of BK’s stores was a particular challenge as the stores never ceased operations during the remodeling. Consequently, the remodeling was done during late night hours.
Project scope included parking lot improvement, exterior remodeling, kitchen equipment remodeling, installation of new fixed tables and chairs, ceiling work and lighting improvement (installation of LED lighting).
